Keith uses crosshatching primarily for portraits, however over the years has evolved this particular style to work for other types of illustrations like sports, and landscapes and buildings. Traditionally the crosshatch creates a mesh-like pattern which can be used to create multiple textures and tonal effects, by varying the spacing of lines or by adding additional layers of lines. Keith’s own crosshatching technique combines traditional pencil drawing and pen and ink drawing, digitally, to create a unique style allowing for a signature look and feel.
